Working with glass is a constant conversation with the material. After years of practice I have gained comfort, control, and craft in the studio. Now I can listen to the glass and work with the material to achieve my desires on the work. Every day is a new challenge to develop technique and practice intentionality. I am exceptionally grateful to work in this art of fire.
Crafting in Unison
Creating anything but the smallest work requires a team of artists working together. The teamwork and trust of a group of skilled craftsmen working together is what brings the artists vision into reality.
Learning Together
I have found that whether the lead of a project or assisting others you can learn much about your practice. I have had the profound honor to work with great artists in this field and people in their first day in the studio. Both of these situations can teach me both about working with and communicating about glass.
